How does your team become the Champions for Charity?
There are 4 Categories for Teams to Earn Points & become the 2017 NPMS
Champions for Charity
Teams earn points in the following categories. The team with with most points at the end of the C4C month will be crowned the Champions for Charity.
Sportsmanship: The refs and staff decide this, so be on your best behavior during the games. We also take your behavior regarding how you treat other teams outside of tournament days into account for your team’s sportsmanship placement.
Most Money Raised for Charity(Fundraising): Any money made from your silent auction items goes directly toward this along with direct donations, Family Night Admissions, donated concessions, and finding volunteers for events, which we will convert to a monetary value.
Team Spirit: Student Body and NPMS Staff vote on the team they believe has the best team spirit. Get a crowd to support your team and charity!
McHenryball Tournament: Overall place in the tournament, the farther you go, the more points you earn!
Points will be distributed among all teams in the following manner for
Fundraising and the McHenryball Tournament categories:
1st Place for each category: 20 points
2nd Place: 18 points
3rd Place: 15 points
4th Place: 12 points
5th Place: 10 points
6th Place: 9 Points
7th Place: 8 Points
8th Place: 7 Points
9th Place: 6 Points
10th Place: 5Points
11th Place: 4 Points
12th Place: 3 Points
13th Place: 2 Points
Team Spirit: Student Body & Staff Vote Maximum Points=10. Teams earn points equivalent to their place in voting. First place earns 13 points, 2nd-12 points, 3rd-11 points, etc.
Sportsmanship: Referees and Staff rank each team from 5 being great sports to 1 being poor sports. The average is then doubled and added to the team points.
In the event that there is a tie in points after all 4 categories have been totaled, the team that raised the most money for their charity will win.
